Job Description:
TITLE: Sales Manager - Home Audio REPORTS TO: VP Sales
POSITION SUMMARY:
In this highly visible role, the Sales Manager - Home Audio is responsible for creating and executing account level sales plans; overseeing the growth of retail channel sales revenue and managing targeted regional business development opportunities. This position is responsible for developing new channel business opportunities. This position requires a high degree of business acumen to develop, leverage and manage customer and merchant relationships. This position is charged with growth with existing customers and new channel partners.
The success of the Sales Manager - Home Audio will in part be based on their ability to think at a critical level, analyzing problems and providing creative solutions. Success is measured in total sales revenue and gross margin performance. Success will also be driven by the ability to identify and close new business opportunities.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develops an account level strategic business plan for key accounts.
Effectively creates and grows customer relationships at the account and even store level.
Identifies, develops and nurtures new business relationships.
Working with the marketing department, develops and executes agreed upon strategies in the channel.
Liaises with the Marketing Department regarding trade shows
Spearheads promotions and commit to agreed upon plans.
Understands and executes the product road map.
Product Management.
Works proactively to drive initiatives, resolve all account level issues, accomplishing this by working cross functionally in the organization.
Is accountable for regional, and account level P &L s and their relationships to the Altec Lansing and Plantronics business plans involved with Home Audio products.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
An earned Bachelor s degree in a business field, with an emphasis in marketing.
A minimum 5 years experience in consumer electronics sales +/or marketing
A minimum of 5 years financial experience gained through sales / marketing position sufficient to understand account level P &L implications for the business.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL ALSO:
Management experience to successfully build a strategic account plan
MBA preferred
Possess outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with all levels in the organization
Be internally motivated and have strong organizational skills.
Possess an ability and experience in managing manufacturing representation firms
Established relationships in the buying departments of tier one accounts
Direct experience in the class of trade and product type
Relevant Buying Group (PRO Group, NATM, PARA) experience and contacts
Experience in CE audio products through our avenues of channel sales.
Can problem solve from a solutions orientation.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Significant travel involved, at times in excess of 50% - may work from any home office, within reasonable access to a regional air travel hub.
