Sales Engineers (SE's) to work as the technical point-of-contact during our sales process.
Job Scope:
The SE reports to the Director of Sales. The SE works closely with other sales team members such as a Enterprise Account Managers and plays an instrumental role in the overall success of each sales territory.
Responsibilities:
* Identifying and understanding key customer technical requirements and articulating the value proposition of client's product line.
* Responding to customer requests for information including the completion of RFIs and RFPs.
* Delivering presentations and demonstrations of the client*s software to technical and non-technical audiences.
* Customizing demonstrations to customer requirements using HTML, DHTML, Java code, and JSP/JSF.
* Working closely with customers to plan and perform onsite "proof of concept/benchmark" tests of the client software.
* Architecting client solutions and working closely with professional services team to develop customer implementation plans as part of sales proposals.
* Working closely with EAM*s to build financial justification and ROI to help close sales opportunities.
* Building and maintaining strong customer relationships as primary technical point-of-contact during pre-sales activities, implementation, and transition to post-sales support.
* Working closely with Product Management and Engineering to prioritize customer enhancement requests and to plan and to contribute to future product releases.
Required Skills
* 2+ years IT operations experience in an IT operations role (e.g. System Administrator (Java Preferred), Software Engineer, Development Lead, etc.).
* Effective live and web-based presentation skills with proficiency in PowerPoint and Visio.
* Effective businss writing skills with proficiency in Word, Adobe, and Excel.
*Hands-on experience building the following technical skills:
Solaris, AIX, Linux, HPUX, Windows NT/2000 systems administration ,Oracle or SQL Server database administration experience, J2EE application deployment and administration WebLogic, WebSphere, Apache, iPlanet, or other common web server, application server Report development.
* Experience working with established IT operations methodologies Business Intelligence / report development.
* Self-motivation and ability to quickly understand complex, customer IT infrastructures.
* Flexibility as demonstrated in ability to travel as required, to work from home , to work hours required to make the region successful.
* Travel * 30% to 60%
