Qualifications:

MUST be able to travel to Bloomington, IL and work full time (sometimes shifts can change), REQUIRED.
5-7 years of Network engineer experience REQUIRED
In depth Knowledge BIND, DNS, DHCP, WINS and RED HAT a plus REQUIRED.
Bachelor*s degree REQUIRED

Duties will include:

The scope of our Incident Management and Change Implementation services are those that fall within the Incident Support Analyst (ISA), Change Agent (CA), and Change Implementer (CI) process assignments. The component is subdivided into the following teams, each supporting one or more technologies: Automation, Middleware, Network Deployment, Network MAC, Network, UNIX, UNIX-IBM, Web Server, Windows Server, Windows Systems Management, and Windows Software Distribution.

Work Description:
This resource will join the Remote UNIX Problem Management team as an ISA (Incident Support Analyst). Emphasis should be on AIX. This will be for a 3rd shift position, Tuesday through Saturday, Midnight to 8:30 am.

The UNIX Problem Management team is responsible for our UNIX servers, and responsibilities include:

Roles and Responsibilities (All Problem Management Teams):

* Problem Resolution including: identifying solution alternatives, recommending and implementing a course of action, and resolving or re-assignment of the incident

* Document solutions for future reference
* Communicate event trends for automation or root cause fix
* Work with a variety of areas including: customers, co-workers, server type owners, and service providers
* Receive calls from Incident Management and other Server Technicians
* Perform Hardware and Operating System problem resolution for the UNIX infrastructure servers
* Report hardware problems to the appropriate areas while maintaining problem ownership
* Communicate event trends for automation or root cause fix
* Track and implement changes to the UNIX infrastructure servers
* Work with a variety of areas including: customers, co-workers, and service providers
* Monitor Servers for changes as well as availability
* Load servers
* Apply Issuances to servers
* Testing of internal processes in regards to servers
* Change/Problem Management
* And other duties as assigned

The individual in this position is required to have the following experience/skills:

* Knowledge of the AIX Operating System and system administration best practices
* Experience in LAN/WAN/SAN networked systems
* Experience in analyzing and resolving complex hardware and operating system problems
* Knowledge of IBM UNIX hardware and LPARS
* Familiarity with DNS, and TCP/IP
* Knowledge and experience in management utilities and concepts
* Effective oral and written communication skills
* Ability to work in a team environment
* Ability to adapt to a changing environment and priorities
* Strong focus on customer service
* Knowledge of filesystem maintenance using NFS and LVM
