PLM, a specialty niche property/casualty insurer based in Philadelphia, has seen significant growth in the past few years and we are poised to continue that growth in the coming years. We are offering a great opportunity for a Production Underwriter to join our team!
PLM seeks an experienced, resourceful Field Production Underwriter to maintain current clients and open new markets by providing marketing, field underwriting and intermediate level loss control services to insurance brokers and insureds in the Delaware, Maryland, Northern Virginia and a small portion of West Virginia.
Specific responsibilities include:
Solicit and develop new accounts, identifying core brokers and producing new core brokers
Service existing accounts in order to maintain a current book of business
Exercise underwriting authority, including pricing authority in soliciting and servicing accounts
Inspect client sites as part of loss control services
Review coverages and programs and counsel insureds and brokers to ensure that coverage is maintained at proper levels

Requirements
We are seeking enthusiastic team players with a positive attitude and a passion to succeed. Candidates must have a minimum of 3-5 years underwriting experience with a commercial property/casualty insurer, along with strong marketing experience, selling directly to brokers and/or insureds in addition to agencies.
An Associate's degree or higher is required. Bachelor s degree and CPCU/CIC/CRM designations are highly preferred.
