Job Description .
79969 Publicly traded internet giant with HQ s in NYC seeks a Staff Auditor. Candidates may be based ANYWHERE in the U.S. and work from home when they are not traveling! Candidates should have 1-3 years of public accounting or internal audit experience, a BS/BA in Accounting, and be willing to travel domestically 50-75%.
Job Responsibilities:
Assist the Internal Audit management in executing the Internal Audit strategic plan that is designed to address the significant business risks and to evaluate and test the internal control structure of company s operations.
Assist Operating Business Process Owners with Sarbanes-Oxley project documentation and testing.
Plan and execute financial, operational, and compliance audits. This includes identifying and researching applicable operational/financial/technical issues and effectively applying knowledge of company s operations and industry practices to audit matters.
Draft formal reports to management outlining scope, objectives, procedures performed and recommendations to improve/enhance the internal control environment, in accordance with established Internal Audit reporting guidelines.
Assist with special assignments as determined by Internal Audit management.
As part of the Internal Audit team, keep up to date on current activities, accounting pronouncements, and audit information significant to the profession and COMPANY s industries. Participate in professional organizations to develop industry contacts and maintain awareness of industry issues.
Requirements:
1+ year(s) of public accounting, finance, or internal audit experience. Public accounting experience strongly preferred.
Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration. Accounting degree strongly preferred.
Certified Public Accountant and/or Certified Internal Auditor are preferred.
Willingness and ability to travel (50-70%), as required (travel is variable both in frequency and duration).
