Job Description .
Beeler Communications Inc. is a small PR firm based in York, Pa., that currently works with mid-sized clients in a variety of fields. People like doing business with us we do good work, we generate results, and we re pleasant to deal with.
As a result, we ve grown exclusively through referrals, and we now need a new Writer/PR Specialist to help us serve our diverse and growing list of clients in retirement living, building materials, financial services and other industries.
Our next employee must be independent-minded, flexible and willing to work from home. We re also flexible; we will consider a full-time employee, a contract employee, or part-time employee(s). As a small firm, we re just focused on making the right hire during this critical time of growth.
This job is for someone who enjoys variety, meets deadlines, learns quickly and gets along with just about everybody. Here s what you ll be doing:
-- Media relations: Developing and pitch story ideas to editors, reporters and other members of the media; also developing ongoing relationships with relevant media outlets and contacts.
-- Writing: Researching and developing press releases, columns, newsletters, and other materials.
-- Strategy: Contributing to development of our programs for clients creating ideas and tactics for clients in a variety of fields.
-- Client communications: Interact with clients to coordinate and execute their PR programs
Here are a few skills and qualifications we ll need you to bring to the table:
Media relations experience and strong writing skills
-- At least 2-4 years experience in PR or a related field
-- B.A. or B.S. in an appropriate discipline
-- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
-- Self-motivated and able to work independently
-- Able to handle numerous tasks concurrently and still meet deadlines
-- Able to understand and synthesize disparate information from a variety of fields
