Our client applies high-throughput research technologies and research software for customers in the pharmaceutical and related industries. Our client's technology has a strong ROI case that exploits inefficiencies found in traditional R&D workflow practices. Additionally, our client has a strong existing install base within industry and is well positioned for continued growth. The ultimate benefit to the drug discovery process is enhanced innovation and improved productivity.
Opportunity Statement:
Our client creates value through shared and archived knowledge of R&D workflows, which enrich and retain the intellectual assets of the organization. Our client's technology increases an R&D client's effectiveness and speed by integrating high-throughput instrumentation and software that allows users to easily and seamlessly design and automate experiments, and to capture, analyze, and mine data. Additional technologies increase a chemists' effectiveness by integrating existing compound registries, chemical inventories and predictive, drawing and related cheminformatics tools. This position will have significant impact on revenue production, as a result of providing pre-sales, account, marketing and market analysis support. The ideal candidate would enjoy working with people and look for personal and professional growth by leveraging their technical experience in a commercial business environment. Responsibilities:
The Technical Account Manager is the domain expert working within a project team of Business Development members. The Technical Account Manager is a "scientific peer" of the customer and will be responsible for presenting application case studies through representative scenarios. Meetings are often conducted with senior business (VP) and technical management (CTO) and will include stakeholders in IT and functional groups.
. Consultant for the customer's internal champion(s) to help assemble a comprehensive strategy for implementation of high-throughput techniques throughout the customer organization.
. Field expert responsible for first line domain (customer application) and technical (internal) expertise leveraging internal technical resources:
Lead the consultant technical qualification of a business/workflow for new customers. Responsible for creating and presenting analysis of solutions to customers as part of the consultative sale/value analysis.
Work closely with Research Directors and the Tools Application Managers to understand how solutions enable research platforms.
. Workflow Support (Tools)
Responsible for defining customer workflows in the areas of Life Sciences and proposing customer solutions. The Technical Account Manager to provide technical expertise applied to the overall application, workstations and analytical/physical property characterization components.
. Internal customer liaison
Internal advocate to support the field organization and customer needs.
Host and coordinate customer tours of facilities.
Technical liaison among the various internal Research/Tools groups.
. Marketing
The Technical Account Manager will work closely with the VP Marketing and Product Management to adapt the positioning as the value proposition is exercised in the marketplace.
The Technical Account Manager is responsible for presenting papers at conferences and trade shows.
Qualifications
Education/Certifications
PhD or advanced degree in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry.
Professional Qualifications
Our client is seeking an acknowledged, successful, drug development professional with a minimum of Eight (8) or more years of experience within a Pharmaceutical or Biotechnology company focusing on applied automation. Our client prefers experience in Process Development, Pharmaceutical Development and Formulations Development. The successful candidate will have exposure to one or more of the following technologies. Other qualifications will not be considered.
Background in automation and analytical techniques.
Software and informatics.
Characteristics:
. Self-starter.
Ability to work independently (work from home office), as part of integrated project teams.
Ability too travel, globally (*yet focused primarily on the US), approximately 30-50%
. Excellent attention to detail.
. Passion, energy, personal drive and motivation.
. Outstanding written, oral, organizational, and interpersonal skills are required.
