Job Description:
This position will be a remote/home based position. Work will be done at a client site in Minneapolis. To be considered you must be local a local candidate. Relocation to this area is a possibility. The Consultant will support customers using preferred Imaging and Application technologies. The individual will serve as the primary technical consultant with a customer during the image creation process, and will provide proactive support to ensure overall customer satisfaction in Imaging and Application Service delivery. A primary responsibility of the job will be to propose &implement technologies that transition enterprise environments into imaging deployment solutions. TECHNICAL SKILLS Proficiency in Windows XP or Vista components and tools, such as Windows registry and regedit Knowledge of Microsoft BDD &Vista technologies DOS command line tools, batch files and scripting Creation and debugging of VB scripts, WMI objects and batch files Experience with application packaging tools and related installation formats, such as MSI, Install Shield and Wise Installer Scripting, command line options and debugging of unattended application installation User profile management through registry changes Advanced knowledge of disk partitioning with related tools and processes to restore computers, troubleshoot issues, and define best practices Positions additional options for image development consulting, for applications and other related Services CONSULTING SKILLS Advanced oral and written communication skills, problem solving, negotiation, and multi-tasking experience Excellent presentation/public speaking skills for technical and management presentations, both internally and to clients Undisputed success under aggressive schedules and ambiguous direction Strong influence/interpersonal skills, customer orientation, team interaction/effectiveness, analytical, and decision making skills Strong management/supervisory command skills Proven ability to elicit customer requirements, define limits to project scope and develop contract documentation Interviews clients, then constructs solutions based on findings Develops and maintains direct customer relationships on a proactive basis Communicates with customer and account teams, to ensure project success ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Manage strategic engagements while providing exceptional customer service Develop and present comprehensive analysis and documentation of the customer's current state of operations and recommendations for optimal future state Work closely with various technical and project teams to identify and resolve issues, and mitigate customer impact during engagements Maintain a high level technical expertise in PC deployment and management best practices, industry trends, and technologies Develop &document consulting methodologies &best practices Display strong situational analysis, problem solving and decision making skills Assume leadership on engagements and work without direct supervision, interfacing with customer IT and business-function leaders Ability to travel 50 - 70% Bachelor's degree in IT related field or equivalent experience is preferred Develops complex technical solutions for system images and applications Utilizes all available tools, to provide optimal solutions Understands and accommodates competing political demands, inside customer organizations Maintains professional demeanor and appearance at all times Responsible for the development and creation of concise deliverables, processes diagrams, and solutions that demonstrate return on investment &superiority High degree of self-motivation required, and must be able to work independently and as a team member Must be detail oriented, with strong verbal, written, analytical, and communication capabilities.
