Job Description:
Responsibilities:
1. Develop and maintain meaningful relationships at the highest level within the
client s organization in addition to managing the relationship with
intermediaries and appropriate associates within MassMutual.
2. Maintain a current knowledge base in critical areas including: practices and
trends in the Retirement Services industry, product-specific legislative and
regulatory requirements/developments, plan design, investments and effective
employee communications.
3. Retain business and manage profitability by seeking to solve client needs
with revenue-generating enterprise solutions, understanding and bringing to bear
the full resources of the MassMutual Financial Group, including all available
product lines. Effectively balance corporate profitability requirements and
market pricing and service pressures.
4. Contribute meaningfully in a collaborative organization of your peers that
emphasizes the sharing of experiences, joint development of best practices and
the growth of all associates.
5. Work independently and under the general direction of management to develop,
implement, assess and modify as needed annual business plans for customers
including: plan design, employee communication programs, investment
considerations and product/service enhancements
6. Collaborate effectively with Retirement Services Sales to attract new
business, including participation in sales and installation meetings.
7. Coordinate resolution to complex situations, working with other staff members
and departments as needed when those situations involve their areas of expertise
and accountability.
Requirements:
A successful candidate would have a minimum of five years experience in the
Retirement Services industry and a minimum of three years' experience as a
Relationship Manager or the equivalent. The position requires the demonstrated
ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously, communicate
effectively and cultivate meaningful working relationships with colleagues,
financial advisors and plan sponsors. The ability to confidently present to
groups, including senior executives, is imperative. Knowledge should include
most, if not all, of the following: basic plan administration, plan design,
investments and portfolio design, development of employee communication programs
and both retirement services industry practices and trends. Travel will account
for 25% to 50% of the RM s job responsibilities. NASD Series 6 and 63 are
required within the first six months of employment, with Series 7 preferred. The
successful candidate will work from home, but should be located in Southeastern
Pennsylvania or Southern New Jersey due to the location of the preponderance of
the accounts.
