Job Objective:
Directly supervises 3-8 sales representatives in the Field Sales
Organization. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with
the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include
interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and
directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining
employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Manages sales
activities of organization by performing the following duties personally or
through subordinates. This position could be located anywhere in the
Midwest (Michigan, Indiana, Illinois or Ohio).
Essential Functions:
Develops and implements strategic sales plans to accommodate corporate
goals.
Directs sales forecasting activities and sets performance goals
accordingly.
Monitors market condition and works closely with marketing department to
assure customer needs are met and that the company has adequate information
to maximize profitability across all product lines.
Directs staffing, training, and performance evaluations to develop and
control sales program.
Advises distributors, and clients concerning sales and advertising
techniques.
Assigns sales territory to sales representatives.
Analyzes sales statistics to formulate policy and assist direct sales and
distributors in promoting sales.
Directs product simplification and standardization to eliminate
unprofitable items from sales line.
Represents company at trade association meetings to promote product.
Delivers sales presentations to key clients in coordination with sales
representatives and marketing department.
Meets with key clients, assisting sales representative with maintaining
relationships and negotiating and closing deals.
Coordinates liaison between sales department and other departments within
the organization
Analyzes and controls expenditures of region to conform to budgetary
requirements.
Prepares periodic sales report showing sales volume, potential sales, and
areas of proposed client base expansion.
Monitors and evaluates the activities and products of the competition.

Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform
each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are
representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or
university; or eight years sales experience with at least five years in
industrial sales management or equivalent combination of education and
experience.
Language Skills:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals,
professional journals, technical procedures.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from
groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general
public.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure,
using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar
graphs.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete
variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written,
oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of
Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
Special Requirements
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must

this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is
regularly required to stand, walk and talk or hear. The employee must
frequently lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. The travel required for this
position is 50% to 70%.
