Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Science
The Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Science features a high level of ambition and synergy. Laboratory of Electromagnetic Research
The Laboratory of Electromagnetic Research is one of the four research groups within the Telecommunications department. Permanent staff comprises two associate and two assistant professors. The lab is involved in the Bachelor’s programme for Electrical Engineering and the Master’s programme for Telecommunications, and is also responsible for a number of Post-doctoral courses. The lab’s current research programme focuses on spectral analysis of Maxwell’s equations in integral and differential form, development of advanced computational algorithms in electromagnetics, and development of new imaging techniques for linear and nonlinear media.

Job description
The Full Professor’s primary responsibilities include research, education and overall leadership of the Electromagnetism group. He or she will strengthen and expand the current research programme, initiating collaborative research within and outside the University. The successful candidate will also be responsible for education at undergraduate and graduate level, as well as for acquiring external research funding, and performing departmental and university management tasks.
Requirements
Applicants must have a proven track record in Electromagnetics and be enthusiastic and ambitious team players. They must have excellent teaching and leadership qualities, be science-driven, and have a demonstrated ability to obtain research funding through the acquisition of national and international research projects. Candidates with an entrepreneurial spirit and the ambition to carry out high-level multidisciplinary research in optoelectronics, photonics, and bioelectromagnetics are in particular encouraged to apply.
Conditions of employment
The extent of the position is a maximum of 38 hours per week (1 FTE). The competitive Full Professor salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications. The maximum monthly salary is € 6,760 to € 8,161 gross based on full-time appointment. TU Delft also has an attractive package of secondary employment benefits, such as a flexible working week, a free ADSL connection at home and the opportunity to put together an individual remuneration package via the individual choice model terms of employment. Benefits and other employment conditions are in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities.
