Data Architect Job Description:
Our government client located in the Toronto Area has an opportunity available for a Data Architect.
The Data Architect will:
- Develop ODS logical and physical data models.
- Participate in the business analysis sessions to obtain requirements for the data model.
- Liaise with the business users and business analysts to clarify requirements and walk through data models.
- Develop data model deliverables/documentation.
- Complete the ODS physical data model implementation by working with the DBA.
- Lead the system design of the overall ODS application architecture, working with the data warehouse architect to ensure the end result is part of the integrated warehouse solution.
- Develop ODS design deliverables/documentation.
- Develop and/or update Technical documentations i.e. operational manual etc.
- Participate in unit/system testing.
In order to qualify for this opportunity you must have all of the following qualifications:
- Proven success in designing, developing, and implementing Large Scale Data Warehouse, Operations Data Store, and Business Intelligence Solutions as a System Analyst and a Data Architect.
- Hands-on experience with Erwin and strong knowledge of Relational database modeling and Dimensional database modeling concepts; and star/snowflake schemas implementation.
- Experience in clarifying requirements and participate in analysis sessions with the user community.
- Experience in designing Operation Data Store within the Data Warehouse environment.
- Strong knowledge of developing metadata definitions and structures within the Data Warehousing to fulfil the needs of both developers and users of Data Warehousing services.
- Strong knowledge of RDBMS (DB2 AIX and DB2 NT) and the architectural implications associated with each platform.
- Strong knowledge of Informatica, Visio and MS Project.
