Many of our BEST Community Coordinators are NURSES! Our coordinators, managers and host moms come from all walks of life, but the largest percentage of them are active or retired nurses. Why? Because nurses are so often caring family-oriented people who are active in their communities...AND because nurses also tend to value a flexible schedule that allows time for family and friends.
As an "International Coordinator" for Aspect Foundation, you will work from home, recruiting volunteer host families for our high school exchange students, and supporting students and families throughout the exchange. You will provide an orientation for Host Families before students arrive, and then a Welcome Orientation for students and hosts after the students arrive. During the year, you will maintain monthly contact with students and hosts, and provide support and guidance to students and families as needed. You will also be Aspect's contact person for the local high schools.
Aspect Foundation sponsors exchange students from more than 50 countries. We are also honored to be selected by the US State Department to operate scholarship programs for students from the Middle East and from the former Soviet Union. Our students are carefully screened, speak English, are fully insured, and they come to spend a semester or academic year living with a host family and attending the local high school. Our host families can be married or single adults (25+), with or without children at home, who can provide meals and a loving home for one or two exchange students.
Working in Student Exchange is fun, educational and highly addictive -- many of our coordinators have been with us for many many years, either as a local coordinator or working their way into a salaried position in regional management. To be successful as an International Coordinator, you will need to be fearless about talking to strangers about our great kids --- on the phone, at the grocery store, in the schools, etc. You will need to be passionate about what we do -- it really helps if you host a student yourself, as you will be able to speak from the heart, and address the concerns of other prospective host parents -- while you are offering them the most unforgettable year of their family's life. You will need to be tolerant and patient and have a great love of teenagers of all shapes and colors.
Our industry is regulated by the government and, as such, International Coordinators must complete an application including personal references and a criminal background check. You will also be required to submit host family applications and other legally required documentation in a timely manner. Organization and time management skills are a definite plus when you are working from home. You will also need a computer to access our website, where you can see profiles and letters from all of our available students.
International Coordinators are compensated on a per-student basis for finding wonderful host families; interviewing/screening the family; maintaining contact with the family and student; and submitting required documentation in a timely manner. You will also earn generous bonuses and travel incentives, including, for example, a Mediterranean Cruise for recruiting TEN wonderful families! Each year, we have great training meetings, where you have the chance to meet your colleagues from around the USA and around the world.

You can also give us a call at 800 US YOUTH, or email to adrienne.ceccacci@aspectworld.com. This summer, we still have many students from around the world who share one dream -- to live with a real American family like yours!
