Role Summary .
Position is responsible for reviewing durable medical equipment Medicare claims for payment. Individuals will review Medicare claims, consult processing instructions, and use their judgment to decide if a claim should be paid or denied. .
Major Duties .
* Responsible for processing claims for durable medical equipment, prosthetics, orthotics, and supplies for the Jurisdiction C DME MAC contract.
* Review online system instructions to decide appropriate course of action with each claim.
* Ensure claims are processed in accordance with all internal instructions.
* Route complex claims to the appropriate area for additional processing.
* Review medical justification for payment of claim. Update claims processing system as needed.
* Meet production and quality standards .
Qualifications .
* High school diploma or equivalent.
* Positive, team oriented attitude.
* Ability to adapt to change.
* Excellent attendance.
* Strong data entry skills.
* Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
* Previous work experience desired.
* Insurance or healthcare related experience a plus.
* This is a full time position with the opportunity to work from home and the possibility of flexible work arrangements after successfully completing trainee period.
* This position will require 2-4 weeks of training and during this time no time off is allowed.
* Hours of operation are flexible and range from 7:00 am to 5:30 pm. .
