Cardinal Health, Pyxis Products, the market leader in healthcare drug and supply automation technology, is adding to staff and seeking an Application Specialist. The Application Specialist installs Pyxis Systems. This position involves extensive customer interaction and service. In addition, the Application Specialist leads the installation process through utilization of the established Pyxis project management process. These projects typically can range in scope from installing one-unit expansions, to being part of a team that may install projects of over 100 units. The Application Specialist effectively performs the required tasks to insure successful project completion and customer satisfaction. Specific duties include:
Communication
Conduct customer meetings with assistance and leadership of a senior team member or manager.
Provide written documentation to appropriate team members and customer addressing each facet of implementation on every project. This includes an overall project rollout plan, timelines and project assignments to Pyxis and customer.
Collaborate with senior team members to provide consultation on new and existing products to customer.
Establish and maintain customer service relationships to ensure a long term business partnership.
Technical
Install and Support Pyxis Products hardware and software.
Complete training and develop basic competency in the Pyxis MedStation and/or SupplyStation product line.
Conduct customer training on the use of Pyxis products.
Provide basic problem solving and troubleshooting as needed for customer.
Manage new and existing accounts.
Perform upgrades to Pyxis software and hardware.
Administrative
Develop competency and comply with the requirements of the established Pyxis project management process.
Coordinate customer resources and assign project tasks.
Complete weekly logs, expense reports, project plans, etc.
Order equipment and supplies.
Maintain Account Summaries.
Experience/Knowledge/Skills Requirements:
Prefer 2+ years in healthcare environment with technical (systems) involvement or 3+ years with other computerized system applications. Prefer some training and teaching experience.
Prefer moderate to strong technical skills: full DOS understanding; exposure to basic programming concepts and uses; demonstration of technical skills in working environment; working knowledge of variety of software/hardware applications and accessories; understanding of relationship between software and hardware; exposure to interface and communications technology.
The effective Application Specialist must be able to clearly communicate, thoroughly document, demonstrate a fundamental ability to project manage and overcome project hurdles/timeline delays while performing basic installations.
Must have strong organization skills. Must have excellent interpersonal skills and a positive, can-do attitude.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Hospital Pharmacy or healthcare experience a plus.
Work from home office with variable regional overnight travel, percentage of travel depending on region.
