Description
My client is a progressive, full service packaging distributor with a long-standing reputation for quality and fairness. They carry a complete line of bottles (glass and plastic), containers, closures and sprayers. Their business has been excellent and growing rapidly due to a strong focus on quality, service and relationships for customers as well as an inward focus on employees that s included in the company s mission statement. To meet demand in the Midwest, my client is adding an account manager in Chicago.
The Account Manager will represent the complete product offering which includes stock as well as custom products. The company s success has been to a large extent due to their ability to identify up-and-coming companies or products, get established early, and then grow to greatness together. The Account Manager brings great value to these customers in terms of product, development, and support as well as industry expertise. There is little interest in presenting low cost quotes to win bids on the basis of price alone. Instead, they pursue opportunities to bring value and build relationships.
The Account Manager will cover basically Chicagoland, maybe extending into parts of Wisconsin and Indiana as well. You will work from a home office in the geography. There is already business in the Chicago which will be part of your portfolio, but you ll be expected to add significantly to it. The position will pay a base plus guaranteed bonus for the first 12 months. Starting in year 2, there will be a base plus uncapped bonus calculated on profit margin. There are also great benefits including fully paid health care and matching 401k. The company even pays for membership in a health club.
The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years in packaging with either a distributor or manufacturer. A plastics background would be very good. You should also have a 4-year degree. In addition, you must be high-energy, results oriented, and have both the ability and desire to build relationships and offer value-added solutions.
