Description
WEB DEVELOPER
The Web Developer’s role is to design, build and implement new web pages and sites; integrate sites with back-end applications and migrate legacy applications to the web. This position also performs day-to-day administration of the web portfolio for the Advantech system and partners. Use of a variety of web development languages is required.

Responsibilities:
Architect, design, code, install, test, debug and document web applications using appropriate toolset
Update web pages to ensure site accuracy and currency
Diagnose and troubleshoot problems with existing web applications and sites
Work with application developers to design, develop and update databases as they relate to web applications
Perform periodic web site audits
Research current and emerging web technologies and issues in support of web development efforts
Education/Experience/Personal Requirements
In-depth knowledge of web technologies, protocols and tools including CSS, HTML, XML, PDF, AJAX, DOM and HTTP
Strong understanding of internet programming languages, including PHP, JavaScript, Unix and shell scripting
Experience with computer graphic and multimedia design
Knowledge of database development, including MySQL, DB2, MSSQL Server and ODBC
Understanding of project management and application development methodologies
Experience in gathering and analyzing business requirements
Experience with maintaining web servers and associated operating systems, including Apache and Linux. Emphasis on LAMP stack
Hands-on troubleshooting experience
Strong interpersonal skills
Ability to conduct research into emerging internet technologies
Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
