Opportunity Statement:

The Technical Account Manager (TAM) is the domain expert working within a project team of Business Development members. The TAM is a Scientific Peer of the customer and will be responsible for presenting application case studies through representative scenarios. The TAM will have a significant impact on revenue production, as a result of providing pre-sales, account, marketing and market analysis support. The ideal candidate will enjoy working with people and look for personal and professional growth by leveraging their technical experience in a commercial business environment. Candidates should have an entrepreneurial spirit with a desire to make an impact in the organization, while fostering growth.

Responsibilities include:



To serve as Consultant to assist with the assembly of a comprehensive strategy for implementation of high-throughput techniques throughout the customer organization.

To serve as Field Expert responsible for first line domain (customer application) and technical expertise by leveraging internal technical resources.


To lead the technical qualification of a business/workflow for new customers. Responsible for creating and presenting analysis of solutions to customers as part of the consultative sale/value analysis.

Work closely with Research Directors and Tools Application Managers to understand how solutions enable research platforms.

Workflow Support (Tools): Responsible for defining customer workflows in the areas of Life Sciences and proposing customer solutions.

To provide technical expertise applied to the overall application, workstations and analytical/physical property characterization components.

To serve as Internal Customer Liaison and Advocate to support the field organization and customer needs, as well as serve as Technical Liaison among the various internal Research/Tools groups.

Marketing: The TAM will work closely with the VP Marketing and Product Management to adapt the positioning as the value proposition is exercised in the marketplace.

The TAM is responsible for presenting papers at conferences and trade shows.



Qualifications

PhD or advanced degree in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry.



Professional Qualifications

Our client is seeking an acknowledged, successful, drug development professional with a minimum of 8+ years of experience within a Pharmaceutical or Biotechnology organization focusing on applied automation.

Our client prefers experience in Process Development, Pharmaceutical Development and Formulations Development.

Other qualifications will not be considered.

Background experience with automation and analytical techniques, software and informatics.

Characteristics:



Self-starter.

Ability to work independently (work from home office), as part of integrated project teams.

Ability too travel, globally (*yet focused primarily on the US), approximately 30-50%

Excellent attention to detail.

Passion, energy, personal drive and motivation.

Outstanding written, oral, organizational, and interpersonal skills are required.
