WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are looking for an enthusiastic and confident individual able to manage and grow a portfolio of prestigious accounts within our California market. This position will work very closely with the regional Account Executives on fulfilling our obligations and with our National Accounts organization to help coordinate client needs and issues for regionally based national accounts. The position will be based in our Orange County, CA regional office and have the ability to work part time from home.
Candidate should have familiarity with the California electric energy markets. Experience in demand response and/or energy efficiency is highly desirable. We require our professionals to be self motivated, results oriented, innovative and strategic thinkers, with solid teamwork and interpersonal skills. Further, this position requires excellent communication and organizational skills to effectively work with multi-disciplinary staff and key clients. You will need to be able to work effectively with people at all levels of a client organization – from plant operators to senior executives – and across a broad spectrum of industries.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position is responsible for managing and growing a portfolio of contracted accounts. The Account Manager will take over responsibility for a given account upon contract execution and will be responsible for coordinating all service delivery and sales functions associated with their assigned accounts. Account Managers are accountable for customer satisfaction and expanding revenue position with their assigned accounts.
·Team Coordination & Support – lead account start-up process including team-building, work planning and internal communications to ensure the team members have the info/support needed to be successful
·Account Planning – lead the process to create an account development plan with sales, engineering and others to establish client needs, firm development goals and an implementation plan
·Account Management – coordinate all client service delivery for all product lines, provide client communications /reporting/meetings and account reviews as required to ensure client satisfaction, retention and profitability
·Account Development – access account team expertise to identify opportunities & grow revenues/profits.
·Market / PR / Sales Inputs – identify and communicate PR opportunities resulting from accomplishments with the client and facilitate collection of approval from client re testimonials, photos, case studies, etc.
·Support the other account managers and asset management on company portfolio-wide client issues including National and Vertical Market Accounts
·Coordinate (when necessary) with Account Executives for selling within client portfolio and leveraging existing client relations for sales into new portfolios / markets
·Support Operations, platform development and management in developing increasingly scalable process, new products and more effective positioning
·Identify and attend key industry/networking events, represent at a booth, or speak as required
·Maintain up-to-date status and records of each client and insure General Manager is kept appraised in a complete and timely manner
·Ensure all required contracts, authorizations, data entry of client records, documentation and internal forms are completed
· Provide input and support to Marketing and Business Development teams on outreach opportunities, competitor intelligence, ideas on how to continuously improve product offerings and go-to-market strategies
SKILLS REQUIRED FOR THIS JOB

·Emphasis on client management skills, integrity, and ongoing responsibility to follow-up and drive efforts to completion
·Strong communication skills – exhibits confidence and persuasiveness in presenting information and data to clients and their constituencies; ability to present complex ideas effectively via oral communications, written reports or MS PowerPoint; ability to analyze data using MS Excel
·Strong project management and organization skills – ability to pay close attention to detail and keep the big priorities moving through to closure
·Self-directed = ability to use own initiative and self-manage based on performance objectives with limited supervision
·Time management – able to cope with conflicting demands and to effectively prioritize tasks
·Business mindset – able to focus on the 80:20, manage trade-offs between client service costs and return
·Fundamental computer skills – advanced capabilities in MS Word, MS Excel and MS Powerpoint
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
·Demonstrated success at managing and growing a portfolio of high value accounts where regular and ongoing interaction is involved
·Knowledge of the California electric energy markets is highly desirable
·Experience in demand response and/or energy efficiency is highly desired
·Preference for individuals with experience in any of the follow industry segments: energy management services, energy suppliers, energy technology providers (hardware or software), engineering firm, ESCO, unregulated or regulated division or subsidiary of a utility.
·Candidates must possess a minimum of five years of relevant work experience, at least three of which involve direct business-to-business sales.
·Bachelors Degree, preferably in science discipline (engineering, etc.) or business (such as economics or business management) is required.
