Unit Description: NICU Level III The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit has 61-beds. In addition to conventional ventilation, we have oscillator, high frequency and nitric oxide capabilities. We care for all infants requiring intensive care including extremely premature infants and all surgical cases (except major open-heart surgery). Our transport team is available 24/7 for any hospital requesting a transfer to our unit. The all RN staff is NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certified and many are NCC (National Certification Credentialing) certified in their area of specialty. There is a Neonatologist in house 24/7. -Shifts available: various, the unit is a 24-hour, seven day a week department. Shifts are scheduled depending on departments needs. Shift differentials are available. Weekend plans available. Sign-on and relocation bonuses available for specific position. Position Description: Under the direct supervision of the Charge Nurse, and according to hospital policies and procedures, the staff nurse asesses, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care for assigned NICU patient. QUALIFICATIONS: (1) Graduation FROM an accredited school of nursing (2) Completion of or actively pursuing a BSN Degree (3) Minimum of one year specialized nursing experience applicable to the unit (4) Licensed by the Texas State Board of Nurse Examiners (or eligible) (5) Current Certification as BLS Healthcare Provider SALARY: Above salary scale is a national projection so it will vary depending on location.
