SCOPE OF WORK
Installing 1 IP turbine and 2 LP turbines plus overhauling 18 steam turbines, etc.

SCHEDULE
February March / Richmond, VA for 4-5 weeks working 40-50 hrs/week
March Mid April / Muscatine, IA with preliminary schedule
May Richmond
June July / Lull in the action could go home during this month
Aug Sept / Active, location could vary or work from home if very proficient
Outage starts Oct 13 will probably not be on site at the outage
Job should end by October 31

SUMMARY
The Project Planner/Scheduler is a member of the Project Management Group with-in the Steam Turbine Retrofit Department providing support for nuclear and non-nuclear projects and working closely with each Project Manager and Business Sales Manager. He/She is responsible for supporting the Team in planning and executing steam turbine retrofit contracts. Typical duties include understanding the scope of supply for the contract, developing level one schedules for Customer Proposals, developing Project specific level two/three schedules for progress tracking and reporting, working in conjunction with the Customer and execution team to develop integrated schedules for installation of contract specific equipment.

The Project Planner/Scheduler shall work closely with project specific project managers and have the responsibility to follow steam turbine retrofit projects from the quotation phase, through the design, production, inspection, shipment and installation phases of the project. He/She shall have planning and scheduling responsibility for design, production and installation; provide project planning and scheduling documentation to support project and customer requirements; provide planning and scheduling support for in-house or on-site work as required. The Project Planner/Scheduler will assist the assigned project managers in tracking the projects against its schedule &budget and prepare periodic management and/or customer reports and presentations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for preparation, monitoring and control of project schedules for proposals, project specific and installation projects.
Assist the assigned project manager in tracking the project against its baseline schedule, budget and REB phase review objectives.
Assist the assigned project manager and engineer to develop and implement recovery plans for off-schedule and unanticipated eventualities.
Work with the PM, PE and Site Installation Team to plan and schedule the installation of project retro-fit equipment.
Develop work packages to define the scheduled installation tasks.
Coordinate the site installation schedule with the requirements of the Customer.
Establish, communicate, track and report site installation progress using the principals of Earned Value Management.
Assist in preparation of periodic management and/or customer reports as assigned by the project manager.
Assist the project manager with the preparation of and conducting of the Internal Project Kick-Off meeting.
Participate in the Project Baseline meetings for engineering, manufacturing and cash-in planning.
Support the Project Manager in preparation of external kick-off meeting with the customer and participate as required.
Participate in project meetings and revise the internal schedule as per conclusions and advise the Team about the impact on the internal schedule as a result of actions/deficiencies.
Participate in the hand-over meeting from Sales to the Project execution Team.
Analysis the contractual documents regarding time schedules and milestones.

EDUCATION
Bachelors Degree (Engineering or equivalent experience)
MS in Business / Management / Project Management / Engineering a plus
PMP certification desired

EXPERIENCE
Required Ten to twenty years scheduling experience in the new equipment/retrofit nuclear and fossil fuel power generation industry. Extensive turbine maintenance and/or retrofit outage planning. Demonstrated knowledge of work breakdown structures, resource planning, and Earned Value Management System. OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) experience; GE, WE, Siemens, etc. is a plus

Demonstrated proficiency using Primavera software and MS Projects
Effective communication skills
Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.

Must be detail oriented with ability to multi-task
Knowledge and handling of cost control &scheduling tools
Ability to function in a multi-cultural/multi-national corporation
A Plus Understanding of German, French, or Spanish language.
