Job Description
Network Engineer
Reports to: Production Operations Manager, US
This isl a pivotal role within my clients production operations group. The ProdOps team is responsible for the on-going customer support, maintenance, growth and development of our hosted software business; as well as corporate systems support for our offices worldwide. The ideal candidate for this position will have at least 3-5 years of experience in network engineering, and satisfy all of the Required Skills listed below.

Supporting some of the busiest software development sites on the Internet, located in our datacenters in multiple locations around the world.
Working with a top-notch system and network administration team located in the US and India.
Further developing our highly automated system and network administration environment.
Experience working with other top network engineers around the world. Their clients represent many of the worlds top companies, and their network engineers work directly with network engineers at these companies to establish connectivity solutions to their technology.

Required Skills:
Cisco command-line administration on 7200+ series routers and 2 series switches.
Experience with the following protocols/technologies: STP, 802.1q, BGP, OSPF, HDLC, PPP, T1/E1, T3, Frame Relay, IPLC.
Cisco &NetScreen firewalls, router ACLs, IPSEC &PPTP VPNs, RADIUS, TACACS.
Solid knowledge of IP addressing, subnetting, VLANs, and NAT.
Programming/scripting experience in Python, perl, or similar. Proven experience automating network administration tasks.
Experience with physical wiring and cabling for offices and datacenters.
Wireless networking with 802.11b/g, WPA, PEAP.
Understanding of and experience dealing with telecom and network equipment vendors.
Ability to manage and deploy monitoring and measurement tools such as Cricket, Nagios, RANCID, CiscoWorks, and NetFlow utilities.
Familiarity with QoS configurations and setup, including VoIP and Video Conferencing.
Strong inter-personal and communication skills. Must enjoy being part of a team, and be a team player.
Ability to develop and document operational procedures.
Be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Be available for 24x7 on-call support.
Understanding of and experience with load balancing (one or more of: Foundry ServerIron, Alteon, Linux Virtual Server [LVS], F5 BigIP, Cisco CSM, ACE).
Ability to balance multiple competing priorities and still complete tasks on time.
Be able to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
Optional Skills:
VoIP and IP telephony experience, especially with Cisco Call Manager and Cisco Unity Unified Messaging a plus.
Certifications a plus (CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, JNCIE, etc.).
Some UNIX/Linux system administration a plus.
Organizational Linkage
The Network Engineer reports directly to the Manager of Production Operations and will work closely with the Support Operations team, and the Operations Engineering team.
