OVERVIEW
This candidate will take an active role in thinking about the client's business and consistently supports team success in understanding the client's business, brand and marketing objectives. We prefer a person with a significant amount of interaction design experience for web-based applications. This candidate will participate in requirements development and planning and must have experience translating business requirements into intuitive application interface solutions. This candidate will attend meetings with project teams, provide feedback on business requirements, present information architecture and interface design deliverables, communicate best practices to project stakeholders, and work very quickly.
REQUIRED SKILLS
" 4-6 years experience - user interface/interaction design (web application experience a must)
" Information architecture experience (strategic planning and diagrammatic skills)
" Detailed knowledge of user experience best practices
" Ability to ask appropriate questions, communicate effectively and persuasively convey design solutions to a broad range of stakeholders: product managers, engineers, customers, etc.
" Strong attention to detail and exceptional organization, logic and analytical skills
" Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks; comfortable with tight deadlines
" Proficiency in a variety of design tools such as Visio, Fireworks
" Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills
" Forward-thinking and resourceful about trends and best practices in Web design and IA.
" Able to work productively with limited supervision while performing in a dynamic and fast-paced team environment
" MS Excel, MS Word, Visio, Illustrator, Photoshop
" Must be resourceful and should have problem solving skills
" Attention to detail
" Working knowledge of various Web-related technologies (Java, Oracle, PHP, MySQL, Flash)
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
" Familiarity with presentation layer code/working knowledge of application layer design
" Familiarity with user research/usability testing
" 5+ years of web development programming experience
" Experience designing and building object oriented systems
" Experience designing and implementing databases
" Familiarization with Rational Rose or similar database modeling tool
" Familiarization with UML (sequence diagrams, use cases)
" Engineering lead experience is preferred but not required
RESPONSIBILITIES
" Gather and understand user needs
" Create persona definition, scenario/use-case definition
" Translate business requirements into intuitive interface solutions
" Maintain a thorough understanding of backend systems and capabilities
" Develop application maps, process flows, wire frames and mockups with accompanying interaction rules (think UI specification) based on a synthesis of user needs, technical restrictions and requirements and business goals/needs
" Participate in user research/usability testing (as needed or appropriate)
" Contextualize web analytics and log file analysis
" Work with QA department to help create and review test cases based on the architecture.
" Review code with developers and create transition documentation upon project completion.
" Assist in maintaining Production updates to applications.

REQUIRED JOB CONDITIONS
" 2 days per month will be allowed to work from home . The 2 days per month will be determined in advance between Systems Analyst and Interactive Project Manager.
" Must be able to work on-site in Long Beach, CA on a full-time basis.
" Must be able to work offsite at client locations if necessary.
" Must be able to work off-hours or weekends if necessary.
