Qualifications : REQUIREMENTS
Experienced and successful in discussing drug therapies and cost savings opportunities with patients, prescribers, and other healthcare professionals.
Commitment to quality with adherence to company policy and standard operating procedures.
Possess a Bachelors or PharmD degree in Pharmacy; hold an active Arizona pharmacist license in good standing and reside in the state of Arizona.
One (1) to three (3) years of experience in mail-service, retail, or community practice setting; Managed Care Rotation, Internship or Residency experience is highly valued.
Successfully complete pre-employment, drug screen, and criminal background check.
Must meet Medco's work at home requirements including broadband connectivity and in-home workspace.
SKILLS
Excellent telephone communication skills including: relationship building, empathy, active listening, and influencing positive changes in patient and prescriber behavior.
Highly motivated to work independently from a remote, at-home environment.
Ability to exercise sound professional judgment and decision making to balance high quality with high efficiency.
Solid work ethic and strong organizational skills.
Excellent clinical and technical knowledge.
Adept in working as part of a team.
Ability to uphold strict confidentiality of customer and employee records.

Opportunity to assist Medco members in improving their health and financial welfare as a certified Specialist Pharmacist working from home as part of a clinical telephone outreach team. In this new position at Medco, you will be able to interact directly with patients, prescribers, and other health care professionals to discuss clinical opportunities and influence behavior, while maintaining your industry knowledge through drug utilization reviews and continuing education. As a Medco Specialist Pharmacist, you will play a key role in establishing a whole-person approach to clinical management, helping patients to adopt healthier lifestyles, providing advanced patient care, and managing prescription cost.
RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Specialist Pharmacist, you will engage in the following activities:
Contact and consult with patients, prescribers, and other healthcare professional on drug therapy management and optimal drug use.
Help patients understand the best use of their prescription drug benefits and present cost savings opportunities.
Complete utilization review of patients drug therapy and make appropriate recommendations.
Perform other pharmacist duties as assigned.
