Location: can be based ANYWHERE in the US. Up to 50% Travel

The candidate will be able to work from home 2 weeks and then 2 weeks at the site. The site could be AK, ND, Washington DC, SD, NE, ID, or Maine.

Salary: Excellent

The Company will cover interview expenses for out of town candidates. First 1-2 interviews will be by phone.

REQUIRED Skills:
MMIS Experience is a must
Demonstrated expertise in Project Management, minimum 3 years as a project manager required.
Minimum of 4 additional years of application system development experience showing a steady growth of success and responsibility
Demonstrated mastery of current tools and techniques of project management, demonstrated knowledge and use of key knowledge areas within the Project Management Institutes Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK)
Proficiency in Microsoft Project
Demonstrated practical knowledge of the Capability Maturity Model in a software development environment.
Practical understanding of application software development. Knowledge of current development toolset (i.e. DB2, Powerbuilder, Java, COBOL)
Outstanding communication skills both written and verbal
Strong consultant image , intellectual flexibility, work ethic and interpersonal skills
Willingness to travel and relocate as required by business opportunities
College degree

PREFERRED:
Above experience in a state government environment managing human services systems development projects (Public Assistance, Medicaid, Child Support Recovery)
MBA or MS computer Science Degree
PMI Certification preferred

Job Description:
The main responsibility of this position is to lead a project PMO team providing leadership and management of standard project practices following an established Project Management Methodology (PMM) and System Development Methodology (SDM). Additional responsibilities include status reporting, risk management, issue tracking, change management, and work plan management.

Specific Responsibilities include:
Provide support to projects from project start-up through execution phase activities
Coordinate quality activities followed for each project
Establish Configuration Management process to be followed for each project
Assist development team to promote adherence to The Company s methods, tools, and best practices
Ensure proper coordination of peer reviews, design synch activities, and related Enterprise project activities with the development team
Work with the corporate governance organization to support and further define System Development Methodology
Assist in the preparation of the Project Plan and project scheduling activities
Establish status reporting standards, measurement standards, and communication standards for development projects
Develop monitoring standards for subcontractors
Participate in the deployment of Project Management toolset
Work with project managers to meet project management requirements of each contract. Support Project Manager negotiation with customer regarding PM requirements in each contract
Establish and adapt Project Administration standards to The Company s Software Development Lifecycle
Provide central Project Administration support for various development projects. Provide continuity across projects ensuring consistent administration of our projects
Oversee support of SharePoint, ReqPro, and EPM project tool sets
Supervise project PMO staff
