PARALEGAL POSITION
Salary is earned by the job, and mostly self-paced. The current paralegal has reported working about 23 hours a week last year and making about 22,000. Comparable of course to working 46 hours a week and making 44,000 a year.
Most of the work to be done is ideally between the hours of 10am to 3 or 4 pm.
There is some flexibility as to the hours and you may be able to do some of the work from home if you like or use the office. The ideal # of hours we will need paralegal service from any paralegal or combination of paralegals together is 20-30 hours per week. We may be able to use someone who desires to just work a few hours per week as well. Someone who wants around 40 hours a week, may be able to work into a full time position if they want to do some clerical/ secretarial type work as well.
If you become a "finalist" so to speak, for the job you will be able to talk with the paralegal who has had this position for about 3 years (if you like), who is leaving on good terms and get lot's of details from him about just about anything you want to know about this unique position.
This position is in downtown Austin. Having a good attitude, attention to detail, and integrity are absolute necessities for this job. As a paralegal with us you must have some minimal typing skills obviously, be able to interact positively with people, be able to work independently/ responsible, and have a genuine desire to help people (specifically our clients and our organization with our goals positive goals.) A person can be trained to do the work if they possess certain attributes and skills. It is very important that you tell us in your resume or a note about who you really are as a person, we want to find the "right person" who will "fit well" into a very unique environment. If you are in the position and you are not happy with us or we are not happy with your after we get to know each other in a month or two then we will have both wasted our time. Because of this, please be as open about yourself as you can and we will be open about what we need/ expect, what kind of person we need, and what kind of environment the job involves as well.
