Oracle DBA
The position will involve configuring, administering, and upgrading the Oracle database environments of clients. Ideal candidates will have 5 plus years of experience as an Oracle DBA and will have knowledge of Oracle 10g and 11i, with a strong background in backup, recovery, tuning, troubleshooting and production support. Candidates must also have strong communication skills. The position does not require any travel but will involve communication with clients over the phone. The company also offers the opportunity to work from home.
Required Skills:
Oracle 7/24 production DBA support experience at least 5 years
Oracle 7, 8i, 9i, and 10g
Oracle installation, patching, and upgrading
Oracle backup and recovery using Unix shell scripts and RMAN
Oracle DataGuard / standby databases
Database monitoring, troubleshooting and tuning
Database partitioning
Database replication
Database instance refresh and cloning
Capacity planning
Statspack, OEM and AWR
SQL and PL/SQL as a DBA or developer
Unix shell scripting
Unix experience to include several of the following: AIX, HP-UX, RedHat, and Sun Solaris
Able to work independently
Team oriented
Able to multi-task several projects and document time spent for customer billing purposes
Self-directed and able to perform tasks with minimum supervision
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Preferred skills
Unix system administration with Solaris and linux
Experience in installing, configuring and troubleshooting Linux operating systems
Experience in writing and maintaining perl scripts
Oracle Apps patch management and patch migration
Installation, configuration, upgrade and support of:
Oracle 10g RAC
Oracle 10giAS
Oracle Discoverer
Oracle Apps 11i
SQL Server 2000, SQL Server 2005 administration experience
T-SQL
Responsibilities:
Remote Oracle database administration for multiple clients and operating environments
Capacity planning, performance tuning, consulting
