Auto and General Liability Large Loss Claims Specialist for the Northeast Territory.
Responsibilities for this position are as follows:
Direct handle large loss AL/GL primary and excess/umbrella claims. The successful candidate will be an experienced claim handler who excels in coverage, liability and damage investigation and evaluation, litigation management, negotiations and claim resolution. The successful candidate will be a proactive claim professional, a strategic thinker and a confident decision maker. The position preference is located in any major US city in the Northeast.
Direct handle a pending of large loss claims from inception to final resolution. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: coverage, liability and damage investigation and evaluation, development of claim resolution strategies and action plans, claim reserving, litigation management, including attorney and vendor invoice review and payment, file documentation and maintenance, file diary, settlement negotiations, internal company reporting, roundtable participation and travel for certain mediations and trials.
The following background and skills are required:
4-year College Degree
8-10 years of progressively responsible Auto/GL Claim Handling Experience
JD or professional insurance designations a plus
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Excellent negotiation skills
Excellent analytical skills
Ability to make decisions based on analysis
Disciplined and self motivated
Demonstrated expertise in application of litigation management best practices
Ability to work well with limited supervision
Highly organized
Extensive experience with paperless claim systems and MS Office
Desire to work from home
Ability to travel overnight up to 20% of the time
Hold one or more adjuster licenses
