Field Production Underwriter/Las Vegas
We are currently offering a great opportunity for an experienced and resourceful Field Production Underwriter to join our team!
Position Description:
In this position, you would be responsible for maintaining current clients and opening new markets by providing marketing, field underwriting and intermediate level loss control services directly to insureds and to insurance brokers in the Las Vegas area.
Specific responsibilities include:
Solicit and develop new accounts, identifying core brokers and producing new core brokers
Service existing accounts in order to maintain a current book of business
Exercise underwriting authority, including pricing authority in soliciting and servicing accounts
Inspect client sites as part of loss control services
Review coverages and programs and counsel insureds and brokers to ensure that coverage is maintained at proper levels
PLM offers field employees the opportunity to work from home, production bonuses, company car and an excellent benefits package which includes health/dental/vision insurance and 401(k).
Our Production Underwriters earn a competitive base salary along with quarterly production bonuses based on individual performance. PLM also offers the potential for an annual company-wide discretionary bonus (which was 11% of total compensation in 2006).
Extensive driving and some overnight travel required.

Required Knowledge, Skills &Abilities:
We are seeking enthusiastic team players with a positive attitude and a passion to succeed.Candidates must have a minimum of 3 years underwriting experience with a commercial property/casualty insurer, along with at least 5 years of sales and marketing experience, selling directly to insureds and to brokers.
Bachelor's degree and CPCU/CIC/CRM or other applicable designations are preferred.
