Sr. Network Software Engineer - Erlang, C/C++, Linux, Networking - Work from Virtual Office or Relocation
Based in Needham, MA, we are a fast growing internet/online services organization with sales growing exponentially each year. Due to massive growth for our services, we are currently recruiting for a talented Sr. Network Software Engineer to help us develop our next generation high-availability, scalable social networking web applications. We have a massive internet presence in the online community and we expect that you will love working here especially because we work with very cutting edge Open-Source technologies, not to mention that we compensate very well for strong performers.
Responsibilities:
You will be responsible for leading the development of critical network services in Erlang on the GNU/Linux platform. These services will form the core of new product and service offerings. The ideal candidate for this position has worked on large scale production environments with thousands of concurrent clients connected to software they have built/deployed.
Must Have Skills:
1.) Must have experience with Erlang and must have expert level network programming experience, preferably in Erlang, C++, and/or C.
2.) Strong background in GNU/Linux/Unix development and mission-critical production environments
3.) Strong understanding of MySQL 4.1-5.x, including database design patterns and large-scale deployments utilizing replication and/or clustering
4.) Industry networking experience, including knowledge of fundamental protocols, such as TCP, UDP, IPv4/6 and SSL/TLS
5.) Knowledge of and experience using XML technologies
Nice to have skills:
1.) High-availability and scalable network service development
2.) Proficiency in an industry-recognized scripting language, such as Ruby, Perl, or PHP
3.) GNU/Linux optimization, security and network administration
4.) Prior experience with VoIP, libevent and/or Apache Portable Runtime
5.) Experience with Erlang/OTP (Open Telecom Platform) and the associated design patterns
