We are currently seeking a Senior Template Developer to join our Horsham, PA based Knowledge Base Department.
JOB SUMMARY:
A Senior Template Developer is responsible for creating and editing NextGen EMR KBM Templates in Template Editor. Each Senior Template Developer will also be responsible for: working directly with clients and client templates, some customizations of work, specialty templates, some opportunity to aid specialty clients in implementation of specialty templates, supervising and consulting with other template developers, conducting regular quality assurance or their work, analyzing templates for improvement, correcting/repairing defects, and receive instruction from other NextGen Healthcare departments including the Physician Resource group.
MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES / ACTIVITES:
Working directly with clients
Troubleshooting client templates and aiding in their customization of templates and implementation
Build and create/edit Templates for the KBM according to direction given by supervisors
Analyze templates and improve or repair/fix defects
Receive instruction from clients, supervisors within the department, other departments (support), and Physicians Resource Group to build KBM templates
QA all template work
Specialty template work and troubleshooting
Work directly with clients
QUALIFYING JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, &ABILITIES:
Required:
o Demonstrated knowledge of Visual Basic, SQL, and SQL Server
o Strong Project Management, written and oral communication skills
o Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Applications
o Proven Excellent written and oral communication skills
o Demonstrated attention to detail
Preferred
o Medical Background
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE (include certifications):
Required:
o NextGen Healthcare including NextGen EMR experience
o Minimum 3 years NextGen KBM template building experience
o Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
o Visual Basic, SQL, SQL Server knowledge and experience
o Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excell
o Knowledge of Microsoft applications / Windows
Preferred:
o Medical Background and terminology
o Healthcare industry experience
SCOPE:
Contacts: Employee's contacts include internal resources, supervisors, company management, and clients
Consequence of Errors: Loss of customer good will, extra work to correct errors
Decision-Making: Follows written procedures and protocols for building, formatting, and designing most templates. Direction is given by a supervisor or senior template developer.
Supervision Given: Does not supervise anyone
Supervision Received: Receives assignments through Test Director, and KBM Director. May go days working on own.
WORK ENVIRONMENT/DYNAMICS:
Some travel is involved for implementing new KBM for current clients
Project management for senior, supervisor template developers
Guiding, assisting, training, and delegating duties and assignments to current template development staff
Client communication involved for research and assisting them in troubleshooting, etc
Work begins approximately at 8:30 a.m. and ends approximately at 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Developers will be working on a lap top or desk top computer.
All assignments for EMR template development are extended through Test Director.
Other programs such as Visual Source Safe and Template Editor are used for development purposes.
Typical deadlines for projects are met on a quarterly basis.
Works in a typical office environment, using computers, phone, fax, and printers.
May work from home on occasion.
Small amount of predictability - continually building, designing, fixing, and updating new templates
