Project Background:
The project entails supporting a web application that continuously
monitors the status of up to 200 telecommunications power systems
spread throughout a region and connected together with the customers
CO LAN. The product presents a map view of all the power systems with
status indicators. Customers can "drill down" on a specific site to
see increasing levels of detail. We use SNMP as the primary means of
gathering real-time information from the power systems. The
application also contains a database describing each power system, an
alarm handling system, and special tools such as reserve time
calculators and trending data that are of particular interest to the
people that engineer the power systems.
TEKsystems is currently seeking a Web Developer with a broad
background from website development, networking (LAN/WAN), database
skills (optimization/upgrades/modifications/etc), hardware
installation, and customer support. This position will support various
customers for our client therefore, coming from this type of
background will be important.
This position will allow for the candidate to work from home a few
days out of the week. The expected duration for the project is 05-06
months.
