Our client in the Greater Cleveland area has a fantastic opening for a contract to hire position as a software support engineer (developer)

Position Description
Title: Support Engineer
Department: Customer Service
Reports To: V.P. Customer Service
Salary Range: $negotiable Yearly
Qualifications:
Candidate should be proficient with the use of Microsoft Windows, Internet Information Services,
Microsoft Visual Studio .NET/2005, and Microsoft SQL Server 2000/2005. Additionally, candidate
must be proficient with Visual C# and have at least working knowledge of VB.Net. Candidate
should have experience working with web-based applications built on the .NET 1.1/2.0 platform
running in a Windows environment. Experience with XML/XSLT required. Candidate must
possess a solid knowledge of HTML, CSS, FTP and general web technologies.
Other Attributes:
Candidate must be extremely self-motivated and work well with little or no direct supervision. In
addition, excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills are necessary to handle a variety of
issues on a daily basis. Candidate must be able to effectively communicate problems and
solutions to clients who may be non-technical in nature. The ability to work well and
communicate with a highly distributed technical support team is necessary.
Work Environment:
This position requires that the candidate work from home . Candidate will be responsible for
supplying their own computer, office furnishings, internet connectivity, and some computer
software. Position is for approximately 40 hours per week, and some weekends and evenings
will be required to handle off-hours support issues on a rotation basis. Most hours are flexible.
Position:
Opening is for a Level 3 technical support engineer. Regular responsibilities will include:
* Working directly with customers to resolve issues which are beyond the scope of lowerlevel
support personnel
* Using the company*s support ticket system to track and manage open issues
* Using Visual Studio*s debugger to determine the source of
* Coding fixes and work-arounds for minor bugs and problems
* Escalating major issues to our development team using the company*s bug tracking tools
* Manipulating and importing SQL data utilizing Transact-SQL
* Performing installations of our e-commerce package on shared and dedicated hosting
platforms
* Performing upgrades on customer software deployments
* Writing knowledgebase articles for common problems and questions
* Performing minor software modifications as required
* Interacting with the company*s forums users to answer questions and provide guidance
* Working with QA and technical writers provide guidance for documentation efforts
* Assisting customers and potential customers with a variety of technical and productrelated
questions.
