LEADING COMPANY in the industry is seeking a top-quality candidate that possesses both technical skills (chemical engineering, chemistry, etc.) and the DRIVE to work closely with company's customer base to improve their processes and product output. Successful candidate will work to satisfy current customers' needs, in addition to creating new business in the region. Company manufactures components and ingredients used in a variety of industries - this position mainly focusing in the FUEL ETHANOL industry. Basic Function

This position is responsible for achieving budgeted sales and profitability goals within the framework of company s overall business objectives. Specifically, the incumbent will call on prospective and current customers in the specialty channel, present products, perform demonstrations, exhibit and/or attend regional trade shows, make presentations and secure orders. Travel as necessary. Territory includes the upper Midwestern states - Relocation NOT necessary IF candidate is already located in designated parts of the following state: MN, IA, SD, IL, WI, MO.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following.

Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from business directories, industry ads, trade shows, Internet Web sites, and other sources.

Travels throughout assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers to solicit orders, or talks with customers by phone.

Displays or demonstrates product, either directly or with the help of a technician, and emphasizes salable features.

Performs/arranges all technical service support for assigned prospective and existing accounts.

Quotes prices and credit terms and prepares sales contracts for orders obtained.

Estimates date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of own firm's production and delivery schedules.

Prepares reports of business transactions and keeps expense accounts.

Works with inside marketing assistant to keep account activities and literature up to date.

Coordinates customer training.

Enters new customer data and other market data for current customers into computer database/Saleslogix.

Develops and maintains relationships with purchasing contacts.

Investigates and resolves customer problems with deliveries.

Attends and/or makes presentations at trade shows and regional meetings.

Education and/or Experience

A Bachelor's degree (B. S. in Food Science, Biochemistry, Chemistry) four-year college or university; and 3-5 years+ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Contact Management systems; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software including, PowerPoint.

Other Qualifications

Travel as required. Must maintain a functional and equipped office in the home.

Language Skills

Proficiency in a second language preferred but not required - Spanish or French.
