Job Details
The candidate will be required to manage a discrete section of a technology
website. He/she is responsible for identifying content to publish, securing
authors (both IBM and non-IBM authors) to write the content, managing the
contracts for content delivery and working with the authors ensuring the content
is high-quality and on target for the audience. The candidate will work with a
geographically dispersed workgroup, coordinating schedules and activities with
other members of the workgroup. He/she has to monitor traffic and other metrics
on a weekly basis, adjusting plans to ensure results of website meet all goals
and advise management on emerging technologies and conduct research on the
feasibility of expanding topic coverage of the web site.
This is remote working opportunity. The candidate will be required to work from
home.

Desired Skills
The ideal candidate will have at least 10+ years editorial experience with
technology publications (online or traditional magazine) in a managing editor
role, deciding content plans, securing content, and managing free-lance authors.
Specific experience in technology publishing covering Windows, Unix, and Linux
technical topics is preferred. The candidate should have experience working as a
part of a dispersed work group.
Basic Qualifications:
The right candidate will have the project management experience i.e. experience
in procuring contracts for content delivery, ensuring contracts are managed in a
timely manner and documentation.
Knowledge of English writing style to suit the target audience is also required.
Knowledge of IT field, knowledge of operating systems and understanding emerging
trends in technology are also essential.

equivalent work experience

5+ years experience publishing Linux technology topics.
