Job Description; Kaplan K12 Learning Services creates printed materials designed to help students and teachers achieve success.
We are looking for part-time instructional writers for a series of science-related lesson plans for grades 9 and 10. Subjects covered will be Earth &space science, chemistry, biology, and physical science. Your responsibilities will include creating instructional material and lesson plans, designing content-related activities and exercises, and producing auxiliary material such as teacher s notes and answer explanations. You must be able to familiarize yourself with Kaplan style and templates, but also think creatively and use sound judgment. The environment is fast-paced, so the ability to stick to a schedule and meet strict deadlines is essential. You must be able to work from home, but meetings at Kaplan s Manhattan office may be occasionally required.
Qualifications:
At least 2-4 years teaching experience in high school science.
Extremely strong communication and writing skills.
Fluency with Microsoft Word and its editorial functions, such as Track Changes and Comments.
Working knowledge of Adobe InCopy a plus.
