DESCRIPTION .
Vibra Healthcare is a national operator of specialty acute hospitals. With 10 hospitals in 8 states and new facilities opening every year, Vibra is positioned to become a leader in the healthcare industry.

Vibra Healthcare is currently seeking a Corporate Director of Health Information Management (Medical Records / Coding) to join their team. Reporting directly to the Senior Vice Present of Clinical Services, the Director will be responsible for oversight of medical records documentation and assignment of appropriate clinical diagnoses and procedure codes in accordance with nationally recognized coding guidelines. This is a full time position and will involve significant travel (as much as 75%).

Responsibilities:

Regularly monitors each hospital s medical records documentation, including diagnosis, indexing, abstracting and coding, and directs changes as required to ensure appropriate clinical diagnoses and procedure codes. This can be accomplished via electronic and other media.

Establishes medical records and coding policies, procedures and guidelines for hospital staff.

Provide coaching and training as required to hospital staff to improve medical records documentation and reduce coding errors. Coaching conducted via regular teleconferences with Health Information Personnel. Training may be conducted on site per hospital as necessary or in Vibra Healthcare sponsored conference. Regular travel will be necessary to accomplish this objective.

Responsible for the monitoring of regulatory guidelines (75% rule, ALOS) as the application of the appropriate diagnosis and co-morbidities codes impact the rule.

Provide support in the implementation and roll-out of information systems related to medical records and coding. .
REQUIREMENTS .
Required Skills, Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Medical Records or related healthcare clinical field is preferred.
AHIMA, CPC-H, CCS, or RHIA certification
5 years experience in medical coding for rehabilitation and/or long term acute care hospitals
Detailed knowledge of the ICD-9, CPT, E-Rehab, HCD, UDS and HCPCS coding and classification systems.
Working knowledge of medical terminology and its applications.
Skilled in sophisticated hospital clinical and billing information systems
Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and highly accurate work are essential .
