Job Description .
Employee will be a member of the Office of Cable and Communications Services. The team seeks a highly skilled, motivated, pro-active, problem solver, television broadcast engineer for the government access channel, County Cable Montgomery (CCM), and the Technical Operations Center (TOC).This individual will provide engineering services associated with the operation and maintenance of cable television production, post-production and playback facilities. The primary duties include: design, installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and resolution of computerized (networks and servers) systems inherent to audio/visual signal , data, information transmission; programming systems; defining technical specifications for RFP development; providing technical support to cable recording teams by setting up equipment and ensuring systems are operational for live transmission; resolve server issues; interacting with DTS to resolve complex routing issues; and repairing computer components. The individual must be thoroughly familiar with analog and digital video and audio signals, Fiber optic systems, network systems and RF systems. The TOC houses our video file server and equipment that monitors and tests the signal quality of the eleven public, education and government access channel.
Position requires ability to work effectively, tactfully and equitably with clients to satisfy their expectations; ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; knowledge and understanding of technical documentation and/or requirements. .

Minimum Qualification Education .
Bachelor's Degree .
Minimum Qualification Experience/Licensure/Certification .
Education: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field (ie. Electrical Engineering).
Experience: Three (3) years experience in information technology field in areas such as programming, systems analysis, and data/telecommunications related to broadcast or cable television engineering.
Equivalency: An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted. Ability to lift boxes containing computer support items and equipment such as printers, computers, modems and monitors up to 50 pounds is also required. .

1. Experience in cable television operations and engineering, computerized video playback, maintenance and the design of TV facilities and systems, digital technology, fiber optics, solid state electronics and integrated circuitry, properties and characteristics of television head-ends, audio and video studio equipment, and knowledge of RF and cable theory.
2. Experience in Cable infrastructure design, including system integration, planning and evaluating, system applications development, troubleshooting, systems analysis and design, contract management and RFP development.
3. Experience in analyzing and interpreting technical procedures, equipment operating instructions and applicable local, state or federal regulations.
