Function (Senior IIS/MTS support):
Be part of a support team with individual responsibilities for the
administration, troubleshooting and support of various 3-tier Internet/Intranet
infrastructures that utilize Windows, IIS, TomCat, Apache, MTS, eActuate, eGain,
MSSQL and Crystal reports and are deployed in a DMZ environment.
Responsibilities:
Perform support administration, installations and configurations for IIS, MTS,
TomCat, Apache, Crystal, and various custom application components.
Work with other team members in the coordination of these installation efforts.
Work with various groups in the end-to-end troubleshooting of both production
and non-production issues.
Determine root cause of outages involving complex systems with recommendations
for long term corrections.
Participate in a 24x7 on-call pager rotation for support of new and existing web
applications.
Deploy application updates to pre-production and production environments.
copying new files, un-registering/registering .dllss, starting/stopping web
services, participating in testing activities, coordinating activities with
other areas while following change management processes.
5+ years experience in the installation and support of the following
technologies
COM/DCOM services deployed in a 3-tier environment
within a DMZ
IIS 4, 5 and 6 TomCat
Windows 2000 and 2003 Advanced Server
MS Index Server
Microsoft Transaction Server
Load balancing web and application servers using 3rd
party tools
ISAPI filters
SiteMinder Web Agents
Excellent end-to-end troubleshooting skills in complex
environments that include:
firewalls, load balancers, proxy servers, web servers,
application servers, databases, and authentication
services (e.g. SiteMinder)
Advanced knowledge in the use MS configuration and troubleshooting tools
IIS DUMP
Debug Diag
IIS state
Perfmon
IIS Lockdown
Strong Performance Analysis skills for MS technologies
Excellent documentation and communication skills
Ability to work independently and under stress
Ability to quickly grasp new concepts
Understanding of SQL and Oracle
