Position Description:
JT Packard, headquartered in Madison, WI has an opening for a UPS Field Engineer in the New York / New Jersey Metro area. This person will be responsible for ongoing maintenance and repair of contracted and non-contracted three phase high-voltage UPS power and power distribution equipment. Additionally, this position is responsible for technical support to customers on operational or maintenance aspects. This position involves preventative and emergency maintenance on a 24/7 on-call basis with regional responsibility. Overnight travel is minimal and work weeks are 40 hours on average. This individual will work from home when not on a customer site and will be provided with a monthly auto allowance.

Requirements:
This position requires 3-5 years of field experience in UPS, battery technologies or electronics. Ideal candidates will have an Associates degree in electronics repair or a related field, a Bachelors degree is preferred. Factory training in the repair and maintenance in one, or several leading UPS brands is highly desired along with field technician or related military experience. Candidates must have the ability to read and interpret technical instructions, safety manuals, service manuals, electric and electronic schematics, and policies and procedures; demonstrate an understanding of single phase and three phase circuit theory and AC/DC circuit theory; be proficient in the use of test equipment . Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required along with the abilityto deal with customers where tact may be required. PC fluency is highly desired with specific attention to e-mail and Microsoft Office product skills.
