CIS System Analyst
Houston, TX
In this role you will
participate in the development, enhancement, and support of the Customer
Information Solution system, CIS. You will define business requirements,
analyze, design, develop, test, implement, and support internally developed
client/server applications including interfaces between these and other
applications. Analyze and document system changes that result
from users requests and write detailed functional design documents. Serve
as a lead analyst on software development projects from analysis/design
through implementation. Other duties include the evolution of the
application development framework and mentoring project
teams in its application. Provide a high level of customer service by
interacting with users, consultants, and other IS personnel in the development
and implementation process. Partner with the strategic business
units to recommend and deliver information technology solutions to solve
business problems and maximize business opportunities.
Maintain and support
backend processing required for daily activities (Data Loads, Queue
Processing, Volume Calculation, and Data Interfaces), Customer
Statement Generation, and end of month closeout.
Maintain and
support the batch processing in CIS. Perform 24 x 7 on call shift
rotations that could require work from
home at night and on weekends to monitor the system and
provide quick response problem resolution.
Education, Special
Training, or Experience:
The following requirements are education and
job education for CMS support personnel:
Bachelor s degree in MIS,
Computer Science, or related technical field related to
Information Technology.
5+ years of experience associated
with support and development of business application systems.
A
strong working knowledge of natural gas liquids
systems.
Skills Requirements:
A strong, working
knowledge in the following essential technical skill sets is required:
Proficient in PowerBuilder 9.x or higher
Working knowledge
of PB PFC or other custom frameworks
Proficient in
design/development of Oracle packages, stored procedures, triggers, & views
Development DBA work including design, table
creation, referential integrity
Familiar with SQL Loader, UTIL file,
other oracle supplied tools and packages
Working knowledge of
shell scripting and navigation within a Unix file system.
Working knowledge of Chron scheduler.
Proficient at
writing SQL queries
In addition to these technical skills, personnel must
also possess: strong written and verbal communications skills, and strong
analytical and problem solving skills.
