Business Development Director
Company: TPO
Description
Business Development Director / Solve the Real Problem
The biggest issue keeping CEO s awake at night is the people problem and that is exactly the problem you will solve for them as our Business Development Director. Staffing firms can t solve the whole problem, PEO s and employee leasing solutions have tried and failed to solve the problem for twenty years, technology alone doesn t solve the problem, and as companies grow - the people problems only grow larger.
TPO (www.tpo-inc.com) delivers outsourced HR services that actually drive business results (don t believe it? Just read our blog). If you ve never heard of such a thing, you re not alone. Most CEO s don t even know a solution like ours exists, but as soon as they find out about it, they buy it, and then become raving fans. We are Washington s most experienced HR outsourcing firm and have earned an excellent reputation for client service. TPO is growing partly because of our no-nonsense reputation, and partly because there is an overwhelming market demand for our services. (Think about it, what company doesn t have people problems? )
As the Business Development Director for TPO you will engage leaders from the region s private sector, nonprofits, and associations in conversation about their most urgent business challenges. This job is not about selling products and services on a 5 year procurement cycle to an uncaring federal bureaucracy; this is about helping small and mid-size organizations thrive.
In this role, you will:
Earn a six figure base salary with generous incentive pay.
Be able to work from home or the office.
Have significant input in our marketing strategy.
Represent one of the most respected firms in the industry.
Spend your day engaging the region s leaders in real conversations about business results.
If this is beginning to sound like an extraordinary opportunity, it is, but keep reading, there s more. . .
What s Attractive to the Right Candidate?
You ll be in the top earning, most elite of the sales professions. We put tremendous effort into designing our client-focused sales process so you can feel proud of your work and be at your best. You ll enjoy a work environment where you can diagnose the problem, prescribe the solution, turn it over to the service team and move on, knowing everything is handled. You will enjoy a six figure base salary and after you land 25 30 new accounts (generating $1.5M in new sales) your compensation will be approximately $150 - 175K annually. It s probably the best comp plan you ve ever had.
Quality of Life. You will primarily work from home with almost no office time or overnight travel. We take work/life balance seriously. After all we re HR experts!
Upward Mobility. You ll engage with TPO s executive team on sales and marketing strategy right from the outset. You are important here. In fact, after you succeed in meeting your goals, we want you to start hiring and managing your own team.
Market Opportunity. The HR outsourcing industry is ripe for an established leader - most of our potential buyers have never even been called on by a competitor. Really.
Pure Productivity. You can spend your time out in the market, meeting new people, analyzing needs, providing service, and closing sales. The senior executives and client experience team will support you and free your time from corporate red tape, low value paperwork and unproductive meetings. We know your role is pivotal to the success of the organization.
Reputation. Our outstanding reputation helps you close sales. We have dozens of references from every market sector.
What Does Success Look Like as a Business Development Director?

Assist the Client Experience team in winning additional business from within our existing client base.
Deepen relationships with TPO s strategic partners to increase referral business (see a list of partners on our web site).
