We are Idearc Media Corp, The Official Publisher of Verizon Print Directories. Drawing on decades of directory advertising and publishing experience, Idearc Media Corp. has created Solutions at Hand, an upscale glossy magazine that is a rapidly expanding and is dedicated to the Home. Our shelter magazine is targeted to the affluent homeowner and is a complete resource for finding and designing creative solutions in home improvement!
Opportunity Snapshot
This position offers you the opportunity to play a leadership role as we build and grow the premier Home magazine in the area.
Your mission will be to oversee and grow advertising sales efforts for this publication, and ensure we have industry best practices and structures in place to drive consistent revenue growth. You will provide the relentless attention and focus necessary to make that happen. You'll divide your time between three key objectives: creating and implementing sales strategies, developing the skills of your team of five to seven dedicated Sales Executives (and possibly growing the team), and providing thoughtful leadership to editors, artists and management to help ensure our content is the best and delights your customers.
To be a good fit for this opportunity you will have at least four years of sales experience in print media advertising, ideally with magazines, including sales management experience. We're looking for a high-energy, aggressive professional with both demonstrated consultative sales skills and the ability to motivate and coach others -- including those over whom you have no direct authority. You also will need solid organization and planning skills.

In addition to the qualifications detailed above, you'll need:
Outside Advertising Sales experience of 4 years
Demonstrated Sales Management success
Experience leading a sales team to success
Solid presentation skills and presence
A team orientation, strong sense of competitiveness, self-initiative, and a high sense of urgency
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Competency with technology
