Utility Meter Reader
Promote positive public relations.
Perform routine maintenance and repair work on water meters.
Operate light and heavy equipment.
Maintain street, water, sewer and sanitation systems as assigned.
Performance of installation and repair of waterlines, sewer lines, roadways, alleys and vegetation.
Snow removal, traffic control and storm drainage systems.
Assist with garage collection and recycling programs
Read residential and commercial electric and water meters and accurately record readings.
Complete monthly reading cycles for pre-determined schedules.
Answer questions from the public concerning utilities and resolve various customer utility service problems within scope of duties and responsibilities.
Visually inspect utility meters for damage and unauthorized tampering and notify proper divisions for corrective action.
Schedule meter reading routes to optimize efficiency.
Download, imports and purge data from the electronic automated meter reading devices and coordinate scheduled maintenance.
Collect money from the public at their residence for delinquent utility accounts.
Perform connects and disconnects of single-phase electric meters.
Turn water meters on and off as required.
Perform an average of 30-40 individually addressed connects, disconnects, door hangers, checkreads, and customer service inquiries per 4 hour work period.
Perform other related duties as needed.
