Control all rail operations within rail yard storage and shop areas; assure proper routing of trains over switches using established operating rules and safety precautions and procedures to facilitate train movements.
Coordinate yard operations with supervisors concerning inspection requirements, schedule requirements and vehicle availability.
Coordinate yard operations with operational supervisors concerning train movements and entry of work vehicles on the mainline.
Exercise responsibility for the issuance of Train Orders governing the safe movement of work vehicles over mainline or yard tracks.
