  • Perform a variety of skilled, journey-level duties involved in the inspection, diagnosis, troubleshooting, maintenance, repair and servicing of water distribution and wastewater collection equipment, components, facilities and machinery, such as pipes, tubes, rods, seals, shafts, stuffing boxes, gears, motors, bearings, couplings, valves and pumps; test and monitor equipment and machinery for vibration, bearing temperature and output capacity.
  • Inspect, maintain and repair pumps, valves, motors and other equipment located in lift stations and other points within the wastewater collection and transmission system.
  • Inspect, maintain and repair pumps, valves, motors and other equipment located in pumping stations and at water storage facilities.
  • Disconnect electrical sources, use lockout/tagout procedures to block electrical sources; reconnect and operate equipment at panel for maintenance purposes.
  • Test, troubleshoot, locate and calibrate, repair and perform preventive maintenance on a variety of electrical and electronic systems, components and devices; rebuild equipment to manufacturer's specifications, including motor controllers, transmitters, level instruments, audio-tone transmitters, and devices using operational performance standards, and standard and specialized testing equipment; correct defects in instrumentation.
