Identify research that may be subject to filing of patent applications and work with inventors to develop strategies for preparing the patent applications.
Work with inside and outside counsel to file and prosecute U.S. and foreign patent applications.
Manage in-license technology from universities and companies and coordinate with licensor's attorneys to secure patents that will aid X-Zay's business.
Work on developing strategy for clients on how they can develop an area, strengthen patents to support products and try to work around potential roadblocks posed by third party patents.
Counsel clients through participation in various levels of R&D meetings and answer general questions regarding intellectual property.
Conduct educational client seminars and courses on intellectual property.
Analyze patents and prepare infringement, validity, and freedom-to-operate opinions.
Work with outside counsel on opinions and aid them in communicating with the right contacts and in gathering correct information and work with outside counsel on litigation, interference or opposition matters.
