Measure and cut strips from roll of wallpaper or fabric, using shears or razor.
Mix paste, using paste-powder and water, and brush paste onto surface.
Trim rough edges from strips, using straightedge and trimming knife.
Align and place strips or poster sections of billboard on surface to match adjacent edges.
Smooth strips or poster sections with brush or roller to remove wrinkles and bubbles and to smooth joints.
Trim excess material at ceiling or baseboard, using knife.
Mark vertical guideline on wall to align first strip, using plumb bob and chalk line.
Apply acetic acid to damp plaster to prevent lime from bleeding through paper.
Staple or tack advertising posters onto fences, walls, or poles.

Started and monitored machine for alignment and defective paper, such as pinholes, rough surface, mill splices, and soiled areas.
Stopped machine to cut defective paper from roll and spliced ends by overlapping them and to splice exhausted paper to new roll.
