Develop and implement plans for gift shop layout and fixtures.
Develop merchandise inventory plan and budget estimates for gift shop.
Develop merchandise selection criteria which supports the education, conservation, and entertainment mission of the hotel.
Develop pricing policies for merchandise.
Identify merchandise vendors and negotiate orders to establish and maintain inventory.
Establish record keeping systems, and maintain records and accounts for the gift shop.
Prepare reports as directed.
As lead-worker, train, supervise, and schedule work for gift shop staff, including volunteers and "Green Thumb" program employee(s), as directed.
Design and set up store displays that reflect the mission of the Hotel and support current marketing and educational programs.
Handle shipping and receiving of gift shop merchandise.
Attend local and regional gift shows to purchase merchandise.
Responsible for preparing daily cash receipts records; report cash and credit card deposits; reconcile general ledger for gift shop and Hotel user fee receipts.
Disburse gift shop revenue to specialized accounts, under direction.
Initiate and prepare purchase requisitions for merchandise and prepare request for payment of invoices.
Organize and maintain vendor files, conduct annual inventory, and compile statistical records.
Organize and develop computerized spreadsheets on daily, monthly, and yearly basis.
