Thank You
Guidelines and Alternate Phrases
State your “thank you” immediately as the primary reason for writing.
Be specific in detailing the “whys” of your thankfulness. In other words, let the reader know you understand and appreciate the efforts he or she put forth.
Mention the good results of the reader’s information, advice, or project. What benefits did you or someone else derive? Omit any disastrous results that would detract from the thanks.
Name names; thank individuals, not groups. (The individual names may, however, be included in the distribution list rather than in the body of the memo or letter.)
